It was a pleasure to attend the “Leadership Execution and Action Planning” (LEAP) class in Harvard Business School – MBA 2nd year Program. I am particularly glad to have been able to share my leadership journey and lessons learned from our transformation case study.
LEAP is focused on action planning and leadership in turnarounds, post-merger integration, global expansion, organizational reinvention. It is designed to give students pattern recognition/ practice in managing these situations. In each case, the course takes the point of view of a leader who: (1) is facing a new or evolving challenge, (2) must take action, and (3) is asked to operate within an environment or system that she or he may not fully control or has not designed. As protagonists of Mudo Transformation Story HBS case and former CEO for 5 years, it was great to provide feedback to the future leaders’ analysis, discuss the leadership successes and challenges navigated, and any other insights from our experience.
Incredibly honored and grateful for this amazing experience. Special thanks to Ryan Raffaelli and David Fubini for the invitation and hosting in the campus. I also thank again Tony Mayo & Esel Çekin for writing our HBS case. Also, I want to thank Mustafa Taviloğlu & Ömer Taviloğlu for believing me and finally a special thanks to my amazing and brilliant Mudo team, all of you make the difference! This would not have been possible without the hard work, motivation and unrestricted support of my great team: Tarkan Özkan, Rasim Manavoglu, Mine Yardımcı, Damla Dişçioğlu, Sevra Mahalli, Meriç Çelik, Işıl Yıldırım, Hüseyin Öztürk.
Every time I attend the HBS programs for my case study discussions, it feels like a very special moment in my professional life. On the way back to home, I promised myself again never stop to push for positive outcomes despite obstacles and stay as authentic leader. You will never regret working hard because hard work always pays off.
